Description
Founded in 1959 Powder Ridge, which was originally known as Powder Hill, operated through the 2006/2007 ski season after which it closed. The ski area was the first to operate a quad chairlift in New England.
Powder Ridge will reopen in December of 2013 for the 2013/2014 ski season.
Rentals
Snowboards, Skis, boots, poles, and helmets can be rented for 8 hours, 4 hours, or the evening. Season-long rentals are also available.
Lessons
Powder Ridge offers both group and private lessons. Half day and six week lesson programs are available for children ages 3 and up.
Racing
Powder ridge has:
- A race team
- Availability for Connecticut Interscholastic Ski League (CISL) training for high schools and private schools
- A USSA mid-week academy
Lift Tickets
Flex time lift tickets are available for children (under 6), juniors and seniors (6-12, and 70+), and adults (14 to 69) for the following durations
- 2 hour flex time
- 4 hour flex time
- 8 hour flex time
- Night ticket
- Friday and Saturday night twilight (midnight to 2 AM) ticket
Season passes are also available and Powder Ridge offers military discounts, discounts for Middlefield residents, and off-hour lift tickets.
Amenities
Powder Ridge will feature a marketplace with shops and a cafeteria, as well as a 200 seat restaurant/bar called Fire at the Ridge.
